Yes, you DON’T know Jack. But, please allow me to introduce you.
Words and “the Word” have always fascinated me. I have found that, in their attempts to reach the most reachable, sages and “wise men” throughout the ages have often used rhyme and song to relay profound truths relating to the evolution of consciousness. Even though a young mother might not understand the hidden underlying messages, as she sang to her infant the simple plots and stories of nursery rhymes, she would be imprinting within her child’s mind eternal truths that would reveal the secrets of the universe when he was prepared to receive their deeper messages. This has ensured that, even if a mother does not herself understand a concept pertinent to advancing the human race, a child’s foundational mental programming can still be imprinted through this encoded seed tale planted within his mind during his earliest years.
Dear reader, I will unveil many words along our journey together that have loaded meaning and potential power to assist you and those who have prepared themselves for further conscious evolution. Often times these words and their deeper meanings have been hidden in plain sight.
Perhaps you grew up with this nursery rhyme sung to you:
Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water,
Jack fell down
And broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after.
Up Jack got
And home did trot
As fast as he could caper,
Went to bed
And plastered his head
With vinegar and brown paper.
The boy’s name “Jack” is a term for a common person or the average fellow of supposedly low level of knowledge or sophistication. “Jack” is the man at the bottom of the social pyramid (“every man jack”). “Jack” is used for the average seaman, and “lumberjack” was used to designate the most lowly lumberman. The revolt of the French peasantry during the Hundred Years’ War was famously called the “Jacquerie” because the jacques banded together in the burning of castles.
The female counterpart for the name “Jack” is “Jill,” meaning “youthful.” Jill is one of the oldest names, a medieval version of the Roman “Julia.” “Jack and Jill” have been paired for centuries to connote a generic boy and girl of low social value.
So, let us refer back now to the nursery rhyme.
Here we have Jack and Jill, or a typical male and female, beginning their climb “up the hill” together. This rhyme is another way of conveying the basic message from the religious book of Genesis. “Adam and Eve” (“Jack and Jill”) exist in a garden state, or in a meadow at the base of a hill; a lowly place. Jack /Adam takes the initiative and Jill/ Eve follows submissively. And why their climb? They are in search of water, duh! Water symbolizes emotional validation, the value that each of our inner essences seeks. How many wells are dug at the tops of hills? None! Water runs down hill, and that is where wells are typically constructed. Yet, Jack and Jill have been convinced by others, just as Adam and Eve were persuaded by “Lucifer,” that they could find the value they sought up the hill. This hill designates the “ladder of success,” or that which humanity has been deceived into believing will satisfy their inner thirst. Today’s “businesses” are set up for the same purpose. Keep going as fast as you can on the treadmill of life and you will make it “up the hill” or “ladder of success” to become an “honorable man or woman of the world.”
Rarely does a “Jack” slow down or stop long enough to realize that they are going no where… fast. Just as Adam fell, so does Jack. When “Jack fell down” he “broke his crown.” This presents the concept that through one’s pursuit of worldly success and by listening to those (“Lucifer’s”) who rally to give advise and their worldly knowledge, a “Jack” loses his crown. A crown symbolizes one’s power, intelligence, glory. A crown rests over the temporal lobes and those parts of the brain which indicate self-feeling and validation, emotions, and how he considers him self. Although a “Jack” might gain knowledge that he THINKS benefits him, his “busy-ness” and life, each step further UP the hill of worldly honor takes from his inherent spiritual value. His crown is broken. And, being the submissive partner she is, “Jill comes tumbling after.”
It is when one is completely leveled and broken by life that he might become meek and realize that his former pursuits were not bringing him the success that he had been seeking. As he seeks to reanalyze his former beliefs and “goes home,” he will choose to “go to bed” and become still. Now, instead of seeking for and following faulty advise of other mortals (“Lucifer’s”) he will listen to the depths of his own being. From within he is “still and knows God.” Now, instead of a crown of power and intelligence, he bedecks himself with “vinegar and brown paper.” In humility he seeks spiritual healing.
As “Jack” opens himself up in meekness, he realizes that everything he had ever believed about himself and life was in contrast to actual truth. Finally, “Jack” must come to see that he has been climbing the hill (or ladder) to worldly success and seeking the water (validation) that does NOT quench his thirst. Yes, he real-eyes that he has been ascending the wrong hill. Most importantly, he comes to accept that “Jill” (a pure female/ Eve) is required to give him spiritual direction as his true “Help Meet.” Her inner eyes see even more clearly than his. Through meekly acknowledging her greater propensity to understand spiritual road signs, “Jack” (or Adam) can become the submissive partner and empower his helpmeet to guide the path to the “living water” located at the top of the Spiritual Mountain. Here, they will both discover, together, their true value, the crown or “priest’s hood” that gives Intelligence and Wisdom.
Another encoded nursery rhyme, utilizing the same symbolic characters, is that of Jack Sprat. Each one of us can plug ourselves into the equation and liken the story to ourselves.
Jack Sprat could eat no fat.
His wife could eat no lean.
And so, betwixt the two of them
They licked the platter clean.
Jack Sprat’s wife’s name is again, of course, Jill (or Eve if you open yourself again to the symbolism of Adam and Eve in their mortal experience AFTER “the fall”). Jack and Jill, or the meek male and female, have different spiritual appetites and propensities. Together, as a unified couple, they have ability to “lick the platter clean,” or rather, flow through any trial and difficulty along their path. They need each together, the two become one united, single, “couple;” a “HU(god) Man” BEing. Jack (Adam) as the male part of the whole, submissively heeds Jill’s (Eve’s) spiritual guidance while she leans upon his greater physical strength and prowess. They both humbly acknowledge and utilize her multi-channel brain/ heart connection to access direction that will guide them both together up the same spiritual mountain that Jesus climbed (Matthew 5: 1). This spiritual mountain grants emotional validation and strength. Upon reaching the top, the two-as-one couple is deservedly crowned with Intelligence and Wisdom, Power and Insight.
