When asked “What should I do when my face is killing my confidence?” here was my response:
If your “face is killing (your) confidence,” then…
Change your face (KEEP READING. 😉 ) …
… With a smile.
Don’t. Stop. SMILING.
That smile floods you with feel-good neurotransmitters.
Those feel-good elixirs not only feel good, but
make you think clearer and treat others better and…
Give you more confidence!
stop frowning and feeling that you are being killed by your “face.”
CHANGE that facial expression into a sincere and perennial SMILE!
Pull the ends of your lips up… higher… higher… now hook those ends onto your jawbones.
Now, don’t you feel better?
Years ago… many… I had a seminary teacher who, in heart-felt summary, summed up his lessons at the end of the year with his love and best-wishes for each of us. He concluded by saying that if he could, he would wish for each of us girls to be fat and ugly and each of the boys to be nerds. I don’t think any of us students appreciated his wisdom at that time.
But I do now.
Beauty fades. Physical beauty deteriorates, costs money to enhance or create. Or costs pain. Time and effort. A loss of time and energy invested into accruing the true and lasting jewels of life.
But inner beauty, when nurtured and focused upon, can change the world. Inner beauty can bring such happiness, peace, healing…
The *TEST* of BEAUTY:
Will the essence within the body choose to live a life of serenity and kindness, unhampered by the spiritual plagues and temptations that accompany a life within a physically beautiful body…???
Will that essence violate the parameters of gracious kind living, essentially wasting their spiritual inheritance by violating their humanity.
The *TEST* of Homeliness:
Without a beautiful body, even with great disfigurement of some kind or another… will the essence choose beauty and poise of spirit and radiate THAT spiritual beauty outward?
The ETERNAL REWARD for living humanely… regardless of physical attraction… is a PERFECT, INTELLIGENT, BEAUTIFUL BODY.
That reward is far easier to obtain without the temptations of physical beauty.
All those years ago when my seminary teacher shared his loving wishes for me… I was beautiful. I didn’t know that, but looking back, I now accept that I was. One of my distinguishing features was my perfect smile. Among other attributes, I had people comment upon my ready smile and my straight, white teeth. I no longer have the physical features (nor many of the teeth) the world would deem “beautiful.” Although admittedly difficult at times, I have *willed* myself to be courageous and continue smiling anyways. I will not hold back my genuine and contagious happiness. Regardless of my current physical body, I WILL participate in generating happiness and joy.
Confidence is a choice. Don’t let your physical features hold you back from being YOU and blessing the world with YOU!
a smile costs nothing and increases the value of everything it touches.
Go forth and smile!
In my pursuit of Real Truth, I have given up everything. Crawling through the “eye of the needle,” I have learned the *mysteries* and am now giving my life to assist YOU to dis-cover Who *YOU* really are, along with your unique gift to offer humanity. As you learn to seek (in the right place and with purified intent), you WILL find treasures of lasting value, along with every promised reward. Together, we will establish a society of humane beings and live life ALIVE, on PURPOSE, and with a sociality unequaled… because we will each BE and view each other as equally and profoundly DIVINE! Please… catch this Hope and Vision and join with me.
